Dr. Jennifer Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and practitioner–scholar whose research focuses on multistate clinical social work licensure and practice as an emerging area of specialization. Drawing from direct experience practicing across five states, her work examines the intersection of regulatory compliance and clinical competency to promote lifelong professional growth in contemporary behavioral health practice.

Jennifer Taylor, DSW, LCSW, earned her Doctor of Social Work from the University of Kentucky, her Master of Social Work from Florida State University, and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of West Florida. Dr. Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Maryland, a Registered Play Therapist–Supervisor, and an EMDR Approved Consultant.
Dr. Taylor owns a private psychotherapy practice in Sarasota, Florida, where she specializes in complex interpersonal trauma. She is also the founder of Jennifer Taylor Play Therapy Services, a continuing education platform through which she organizes, teaches, and implements transformative training programs for mental health professionals.
Dr. Taylor serves as Senior Manager of the Institute for Professional Development and Grant-Funded Clinical Programs at Jewish Community Services of Baltimore. In this role, she provides clinical leadership, program development, and oversight of large-scale behavioral health initiatives serving children and families.
She has presented nationally and internationally and has authored multiple book chapters on play therapy, clinical supervision, and nature-based interventions. Dr. Taylor has also served as an adjunct professor of Social Work at the University of Memphis and the University of West Florida.
Her research focuses on multistate licensure and clinical practice as a developing specialty area, informed by her lived experience practicing across five states as a military spouse. Her work emphasizes theoretically grounded clinical practice alongside intentional continuing education that fosters reflective, meaningful, and individualized professional development for clinicians and the clients they serve.
